Good Gurls Rehab - Animated GIF - We'll Figure It Out...

"It still feels good to be held by you..." Holly finally broke the long, contemplative silence.

"Well, I'm still me, something in you still feels that," Ashley replied, still staring at the ceiling, stroking Holly's hair.

"This just...sucks..." Holly then mumbled out. "We finally get what we need. We can do everything we've always wanted...the house, a new car, can even try for kids now...and, and..."

"Shh, shh..." Ashley comforted Holly, pulling Holly's head gently against her chest. "We'll...figure it out. I'm still me, and we can still do all of those things...though we'll need a little help with that last one... and it doesn't have to be forever. I do this job for a year, maybe two, use the experience to jump to another company without this...requirement...and we're right back on track..."

Austin and Holly were a classic post-college love story. Both moved to a new town for work, met through some mutual acquaintances, and hit it off.  A year later, they were engaged. Another year after that, they were married. Holly wanted the traditional milestones next - buy a house, new cars, get a dog, start a family... But between them, they didn't exactly have the money for those, especially in this day and age.

Then, Austin's company made a deal with Good Gurls Rehab. Sure, there were the usual punitive arrangements, but it also opened up the voluntary "Mile in Her Shoes" program. If Austin were willing to spend a year as a woman, he'd get an immediate raise, additional trainings and certifications, and be short-listed for promotions. He pitched the idea to Holly...who wasn't exactly thrilled. Austin managed to convince her, though. One year, more money, potential promotion for even more money after that...and they'll have all they need. Austin didn't exactly want to be a woman either, but said it could be an interesting experience. Holly, who only had brothers, was sold on the idea of having a sister-like figure in her life for a little while. So...Austin became Ashley.

And Ashley...whether it was the opportunities afforded by GGR, the boost in confidence from being an attractive woman, the desire to provide for Holly, or some combination of them all...crushed it in her new role. She earned the promotion in record time. All the while, Holly was the ideal "womanhood mentor". Helping her to dress, to do her hair/makeup, to deal with her new bodily functions... And though Ashley was more than willing to try, Holly just couldn't be convinced to give a physical relationship between them, both as women, a shot. But Ashley powered through...her year was almost up and she'd be back to Austin, with an even bigger promotion, soon.

Then, yesterday, a bombshell. Ashley's company offered her an even bigger promotion. The kind that could set her and Holly up extremely well. But there was a condition - she'd have to remain swapped for as long as she held it. Her story was so successful between her company and GGR that both wanted to use her as a positive example. Ashley was...conflicted...

"Yeah, yeah..." Holly mumbled after another long silence. "I do...miss you being a guy. And it'll be that much longer before we can have kids... And..."

DING-DONG

The doorbell interrupted Holly. Ashley smirked and climbed up, guiding Holly into following her. Outside the door, just as Ashley had arranged, was a large gift box. Ashley nodded toward it, then Holly knelt down to open it...and inside, was a puppy. Holly lit up, nearly in tears.

"We have to wait a little longer on the kids, sure, but...maybe this will help get you through," Ashley explained. Holly, hugged the puppy close, tears streaming down her face.

Yes, things like Good Gurls Rehab have scrambled many relationships in this day and age, but the ones who are meant to be together find ways to make it work anyway.
